Here
are some testimonials from individuals who have
firsthand experience with the benefits of StudyWhiz
for their students: |

"We
first introduced StudyWhiz to our fifth graders
last year and it was a resounding success. We also
used portions of StudyWhiz in our seventh grade
classes with much success last year and this year
are introducing it to our new fifth and seventh
graders. The organizational skills of our students
have steadily improved. Teachers use the “Need
To Know Chart” to identify what the kids
need to learn and study and the “Preview
Chart” has really helped to let the kids
know what they know prior to starting the lesson.
Several of our teachers introduce each lesson by
having the students complete the "Mountain" page.
They then guide the students through the sections
of the chapters utilizing the “Smart Notes” pages.
This gives all the students the opportunity to
identify and use the learning style that best fits
their individual needs. I would highly recommend
StudyWhiz to any educator at any grade level. The
bottom line is that it has given our students a
life-long skill that can be used in anything they
do. It makes the life of a student easier."

"We found that students who used StudyWhiz in
middle school were more successful in high
school because they understood how to study for learning,
not just for the test.”
Carol Mendenhall
Director, Instructional Staff Development
Northeast Independent School District
San Antonio, Texas
“I utilized several components of StudyWhiz
in teaching underachieving ninth-graders how to
write cohesive paragraphs. I found that even
the lowest-achieving students could come to
an understanding of a very involved writing process
through the use of the graphic aids and thought
organizers that comprise the StudyWhiz program."

"The StudyWhiz program works very well for any
level of Social Studies instruction. The flexibility
of the notetaking portion of the program is
beneficial in working with 6th graders who do not have a
great deal of experience with formal notetaking
procedures. We love the "Word Wall" and
all of the great graphic organizers that are
very user-friendly. Everyone in my department
uses StudyWhiz and we all agree that it helps
students
to make those important 'connections' with
the curriculum for long-term retention."

"Even struggling
students are eager to show me what they have
done and how they did
it. Learning itself is becoming motivational."

"StudyWhiz is a worthwhile program for students
of all ages. At Tejeda Middle School, our teachers
reinforce all learning styles through the MindFrames
used in the StudyWhiz program. The graphic organizers
are wonderful because teachers are able to present
their content material in a way that focuses
on the important information yet they can still
offer students opportunities to synthesize what
has been learned. The teachers at our school
really like the 'Word Wall' and the 'Smart Notes'.
So many students never have been taught how to
take effective notes; we find it extremely helpful
to take the time to teach this skill in 6th grade
and then continue to reinforce 'Smart Notes'
through the next two years. Students learn how
to organize thoughts and ideas in a way that
makes it easy for them to study later for an
exam. The skills our students learn now translate
to even greater success as they enter high school
and beyond."

"My adult daughter, who is working on her nursing
degree, did poorly on a microbiology test. I
gave her the StudyWhiz and asked her to try it.
Since using StudyWhiz, she has made all As and
Bs. Her comments are, ‘My notes are more
organized and no longer are intimidating when
I read through them. I am able to take more notes
with the variety of note-taking methods and resources
provided. The material is easier to comprehend
and retain. I look forward to studying because
having a variety of resources to use makes it
fun. Why didn’t they teach me this in high
school?’ StudyWhiz has made a definite
contribution to the academic success of my daughter.”
